Learning with Technology
At the start of the 2014-2015 school year, Kalamazoo Country Day School implemented a comprehensive 1:1 Technology Program for every student in Kindergarten through 8th Grade.
The program included robust enhancements to our tech infrastructure, best-in-class teacher training, and a device in the hands of every student. Every K-5 student is the proud owner of an iPad, and each Middle School student owns a MacBook Pro. The tools on each device are controlled by the KCDS faculty and the content generated by our creative young minds is closely monitored. 1:1 Technology has expanded our classrooms far beyond their four physical walls and the results have been remarkable.
Our faculty has spent countless hours learning how to integrate 1:1 Technology into their classrooms, and with the help of our Teaching and Learning Technologist, they continue to innovate and explore new ways of using this powerful resource to enhance the learning environment every day. Rather than spending all of their school day on their devices, our students utilize them sparingly as a tool that helps KCDS achieve the goal of individualized learning.
